The process of getting a CEREC crown is easy to understand. First, Dr. Khanani will clean and numb the area being treated. Then, he will use a dental drill to remove any damaged enamel and reshape the tooth for the crown.

Using a handheld digital scanner, Dr. Khanani will take a 3D image of your tooth and upload it to our CEREC computer. From there, he will design a custom-fitted dental crown that will fit perfectly in your mouth.

After finalizing the design, Dr. Khanani will place a tooth-colored block of porcelain into our CEREC CAD/CAM milling machine. The machine will automatically trim the block to create your crown.

Once the crown is ready, Dr. Khanani will check to ensure it fits perfectly in your mouth and make any necessary adjustments. Finally, he will use dental cement to permanently attach the crown to your tooth, completing the procedure.
