Tooth Extractions

What are Tooth Extractions?
Tooth extractions help protect your oral health by removing problematic teeth, such as those affected by gum disease or impacted wisdom teeth. We perform all extractions in-office, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and relaxed experience at your convenience.
Why are Tooth Extractions needed?
Extractions are recommended when a tooth cannot be saved and may threaten your oral health. Removing it can prevent issues like shifting, infection, or further damage. Common reasons for a tooth extraction include:
- Impacted wisdom teeth
- Loose or severely decayed teeth
- Teeth that are cracked or broken below the gum line
- Stubborn baby teeth
- You're looking to avoid having additional treatment done
Who is a candidate for Tooth Extractions?
Through a thorough examination, we can assess whether an extraction is necessary. For most patients, the procedure is safe and important to prevent future problems like infections or abscesses. X-rays will be taken to help determine the need for extraction and guide the process.
What happens during a Tooth Extraction?
First, we offer anesthetic or sedation based on your preference, which we can discuss during your consultation. Once you're comfortable, we'll carefully loosen and remove the tooth. If necessary, we may place sutures to close the gums, and you'll bite down on gauze to control bleeding. If you’ve received sedation, we’ll guide you to a recovery room to fully wake up. For your safety, a friend or family member should take you home if general sedation is used. After the procedure, we'll provide clear aftercare instructions to ensure proper healing.
